LOVELY DEPENDENCE
This heartbreaking and true story follows a desperate mother through her teenage daughter’s years-long drug addiction. She shares the profound sadness, anxiety, fear and frustration of trying to parent and save her daughter over and over again. It also includes excerpts from essays written by Alex during her multiple times in therapy and treatment.
If you have read the book, you know Scotty. He was Alex’s cousin and best friend whom we lost to a Fentanyl-laced Xanax pill at the age of 21. He is forever in our hearts.
About the Author
Lovely Dependence is Catherine J Sullivan’s first memoir. She has been an interior designer for the past 16 years. Prior to that, she was a successful game developer (a tangible game…developing a video game is way above her pay grade!) and, before that, a product manager in the tech industry. Somewhere along the way she squeezed in being a full-time mom for 10 years. She lives in Denver, Colorado and spends as much time as she can in Tuscany, Italy, where she owns a small home. Her favorite humans are her kids and her friends. Her favorite non-humans are her doggies, Eloise and Murphy.
